Do I actually need a journal?

Where have I been?
Surely it hasn't been 7 weeks since my last posting?
What have I been doing? (I hear no-one ask..... )

So I'll remind myself in the event I read this when I'm old and grey...
Oh, and here I am.

Usual April meetings in London... Yes re-elected Vice chair of my lovely committee, do love working with those gals, some new faces too this time. Such good work to be done in this term...

Then over to Tokyo to chair some meetings and make sure Australia is not forgotten in the Asia/pacific, which is much harder than it sounds. Japanese men may love tall larger women in their fantasies but not so much when we have an opinion. Gotta hate that. Did however love being counted and forging bonds with our Oceania brothers and sisters.... Now just need to deliver on those promises!
Of course though this trip was extra special as I took my lady with me. The perfect travel companion, particularly given she's just made for Japan. "Hagashi Ginza"... Yes so many fine travel tales to be shared, but given I'm not really in a mood for elaborating... I'll just have to refer to photo's for fresh reminders of why Japan is such a fun place. No, not posting any photo's.
Did buy a cool shirt over there tho' it that may one day make a debut at hellfire- hmmm, not that I may ever go to hellfire again. Oh well.

There was that training course over in Vaucluse for 7 long days...

Home, work, away, home, home....
Yes had to go and work a whole of 4 days in May- was so very painful- not! To think I thought the 12 days I worked in March was a good wicket. Maybe one day I can better that? June however is set for about 16 days of work (this is the stuff that I'm paid to do of course- I do actually work more than that). Dunno how I'll cope. Then again, it is my birthday month, surely I deserve to be able to stay home and care for my family as much as I can? That is afterall all I really want to do with my life.
Oh well maybe add to that "want to do" list changing a few things in the world here and there in my spare time. Everyone needs a hobby afterall!

Ok, this is just boring me now...

See you later- MUCH

Another death on the wharves.

Fallen Comrades - Never Forgotten - Never Again!
Time: 3:30pm
Date: Friday 23rd March
Place: 365 Sussex St, Sydney, march to Remembrance Park (Near Sydney Entertainment Centre)

The Australian waterfront has claimed three lives in the last year.

The MUA is determined to stop this carnage and is holding a "Commemoration and Demonstration" tomorrow outside our offices at 365 Sussex St, Sydney.

We will campaign for a National Stevedoring Safety Code of Practice and commemorate the lives of the three wharfies killed at work this year.

The details are as follows:
There will be a gathering in the park where there will be speakers from the MUA and a range of other unions.
Your attendance at this important event is greatly appreciated.

FALLEN COMRADES - NEVER FORGOTTEN - NEVER AGAIN!

Definitely going and taking the kid... (or I can't actually go.)

Remember visting my dad in hospital after a wharf accident.

Still cringe when I see workmates that walk with a limp after severe accidents.
Or people that never made it back to work....

Just glad a broken hand is the worst thing to've happen to me whilst working there! (So far and in terms of Physical damage anyway;))

Picnics almost make working weekends worth it!

Day 6 on a run of day shifts, and am right now VERY excited to be awaiting my smoko break.
Not only would it signify my working day being past halfway but I have a lovely picnic planned at our very own private park, with a great view of Sydney (and work).
Plans are to of course, chase the little one around (sadly only 1 of 2 angels in attendence today) and enjoy my 45min break escaping into my family life.
Somethings you just can't do on night shifts....
With 2 weeks of nights coming up it really is best to appreciate these precious moments in any working day.

Of course though, nights DO have their advantages as well.... I'm sure I'll have more than enough time to elaborate on all those positives in the next coulpe of weeks.
You'd think so with 2 weeks of nights on the horizon!

First though, my gift from the goddesses... Picnic lunch.
If these guys (comrades) only knew how good I've got it eh?
I am indeed the luckiest person (wharfie) I know! Just ask me!

Dance like you have ants in your pants

Friday night.... VICE. Where did everyone go?
MG launch night, the streets seemed brimming with bodies and yet downstairs Arq saw a clientele of 40?
More than enough space to dance, spank, boogie and whip my girl raw... Mmmmm raw.
No line up for the A frame and a distinct lack of onlookers ensured the flogger got a work out and my callused hands a pleasant warming too.
The main point of course was to initiate our fetish curious mates, who understandably, are already awaiting their next adventure.
My highlight was the look of longing on my girls face..... AND undoubtedly her adorable outfit that was sure to guarantee her whatever she wanted...
I also VERY MUCH enjoyed the little dance shows she participated in with my mates femme girlie, AND must make particular mention of the voluptuous beauty who tied and dominated my girlie against the pole.... Just sorry I missed most of it whilst playing pool. (What a waste of effort that was, all the poise and skill of a newborn foal learning to walk)
Nonetheless much thanx must go to the mates that house sat for us, and sorted out the morning routine for the kids... Priceless gift indeed!
Looking forward to venturing out again soon....

Saturday...A couple hrs sleep. Beach with the kids, home again, quiet time.
Followed by some weird arsed family therapy with the ex... Overdue. Buzz bar for dinner, where kids and adults alike fed their faces. Adore that Cafe- even if they don't do Eftpos/Visa.
Home again, bath and bed for the lil'uns, chilled out with a crappy dvd. Really should've turned it off after 5mins. Back into our own bed......... Finally sleep.

Sunday... Cooked breakfasts all round. Then a childs play date (yes apparently there should always be clarification of that term!) When all the childs play equipment was as worn out as the kids, we moved on back to the Buzzbar. Mmmm caffeine, more yummy food, more childs play. More chilled out and relaxed fun and conversation. Much thanks to [info]grushenkadoll for finding the time to socialise our families. Lovely too was her handsome boy joining us, just in time to watch the 3 x 3yr olds play tickles, wrestle and rumbles. Too cute! Looking forward to the next play date. (Of the kids variety of course;))

Human Ant food.

Little black ants are hunting me down of late. JUST ants.
It hasn't been for a long time, but after several months of consistent, persistent, and often painful ant bites, I am concerned and quite worried that they've gotten a real taste for my flesh.
It seems where-ever I go, picnics, backyards, and even inside the home! The little black menaces find me and BITE!
Yes, that's right, the insect world has perhaps finally sent it's army to have it's Karmic revenge.
Those I live and play with do not suffer the same fate.
I'm left wondering if years of battling with the insect world, if extinguishing their lives in a chemical free manner (not a fan of aerosols) crushed between my fingers (instant death) has found myself cursed to a life of insectile torture (is that even a word?).
I can almost hear the nodding heads of many vegetarians, hindu's, buddhists, peace loving comrades, believers in next and past life theology, others. That indeed mother nature has in her own way decided enough is enough.
That I need this consistent nudge to remind me that perhaps I don't have the right to remove these creatures from my space, that they are in fact much bigger than me, can be found in more places than I can see, be, or visit and ultimately that killing one or two here or there is in fact wrong....
What do I do?
Stop removing what I see as pests from my space? Learn to remove them in an even more earth friendly manner?
Who has sent this army?
Why my flesh and not those I share my space with?
No - I haven't changed "products" or my diet.
Yes, we do clean our home regularly, and indeed they can't be seen around the home- unless they're biting me...
Who has called on these insects?
Is there a website out there I can find that might shed some light on this annoying issue?
Has some witch cursed me?
ENOUGH ALREADY.... Whatever it is i don't want to be ant food anymore.
Cease and desist you little critters.
State your price.
Cease this war.

Oztraylia day eve

At last a day off.
Short lived of course as I will find myself back to a lovely run of night shifts tomorrow night. "Them's the breaks." "Pays the bills." blah blah
ENJOY THE MOMENT
So I go and get my eyes tested today (after breaking through another pair of glasses) and even with a change in life style *wink* I'm still going blind- Hehehe
Seriously though it is another reason to promote the old slip slop slap....sun damages everything.... Particularly your eyes. Exhibit A.

So anyway....
Have a VERY hot date tonight.
Totally excited, my current plan is roughly as follows, suggestions more than welcome.

4-7pm
(*insert running around picking girlie up from work, dropping 2 x 3yr olds off at sitter*)
Then the treats.
Dinner.
Location TBA- I'm currently thinking to hang with my wog brothers in Brighton Le-Sands... always a touch of nostalgia there for me.
Then some fun.
Botany Bay carnival (rides) at Kyeemagh, screams assured.... Spray on Tattoo's anyone?
Giggling until our sides hurt. Mmmm -ferris wheel definitely the last ride.
If it's not raining yet... Ice creams balanced by a stroll along the shorline hand in hand, watching the planes, chatting, dreaming, planning "one days" (all the while trying to ignore the haunting bright yellow lights of my workplace.)
If it is raining then perhaps bowling? NOT the movies. (Drive-in or nothing there!)
Then, the true treat, some alfresco loving...
Yes it is indeed what I believe every hot date should finish with.
The great outdoors... Can almost smell the night air now... Heightened senses...
It's Raining? No worries the car will do just fine. (No suggestions necessary for location *wink*)

Now just a matter of watching time pass - playing happy home body... Grinning in the knowledge of (roughly) what joys will fill my 48hrs of free time... AND that my hot date may also know exactly what's heading her way...

Happy to hear any date improvement suggestions... Might steal them for next time!

Oh Yeah mate, have a bonza Australia day....

Life's like that.

My life is depicted by days on a roster...

One kid, 2 kids, no kids.
Night shifts, twilight's and days.
Moonshine, sunshine, where's my funshine?

Yay time for myself...
Great, stuck with myself....

Family at home, story time,
without my story telling voices...
Dinner antics left for another mama to sort out.
Ohhh, but there is always tomorrow.
A morning of AbcKids...
Hang the washing with my favourite little helpers.
Chase around the garden.
Hide and seek?
Definitely get some craft time in.
Need another dinosaur afterall.

So much to smile about everywhere I look.
Still- stuck here feeling like a sook.

When did work become so painful?

About the same time my life became so rich.

Chips and coke- the ultimate shiftworker diet?

Boys and butches alike going to the "bistro" for smoko.
The sea of fluro surrounds the bar...

"I'll have my steak medium well thankyou"

A hankering for some meat ensues....
